Hi and welcome!

My name Kai and I am a licensed ham radio operator since July 2023. I live in Kiel, a city in northern Germany at the cost of the Baltic Sea.
My callsign is DD6KW as you probably already guessed… 😉

For now this website will be mainly about the Guohetec Q900 SDR transceiver.
Maybe later I will add other ham related contents, but there are already so many ham related websites out there…

I already owned a Yaesu FT-3D before I got my license. But with the license it was time for new SDR transceiver.
The decision to buy the Guohetec Q900 Transceiver was made because of different reasons:
– Low available budget
– I live in an apartment on the ground floor in the city without outside antennas. A portable device was needed.
– The Q900 comes with many bands and modes.

But I did spend way too many hours researching the internet before I decided to buy. Then I already knew some of the pros and cons. Buying directly from china always comes with a risk.
Still there are things that I only learned after using the Q900.

The site about the Q900 is intended to help to get a quick access to information without the need of long research.
